My weakness: CBS shows about teams aka found families solving crimes and completing ridiculous tasks. Throw in a good slash ship and I’ll love it even more. Add in an age difference … yeah. You see where I’m going. I love Macgyver a lot.
The MacDalton starts right from the beginning, with Jack’s protective side on display. Jack’s new hair – or lack thereof, as it were – is working for him. The whole opening scene set this great tone for the show, staying true to the feel of season one. A little danger, a little hilarity (Mac in the sidecar of the motorcycle made me cackle), and a whole lot of heart.
The credit sequence for this season is so badass, too.
I’m glad Bozer is okay. I’m also glad that his and Riley’s friendship is as strong, and sarcastic, as ever. I wonder how their dynamic changes with the addition of Samantha Cage. I don’t know how I feel about her, but I get the feeling that the fandom has already sailed a Riley/Samantha ship. Samantha’s statement about never dating men or women she works with makes me think she’s definitely going to develop feelings for someone on the team. Just don’t let it be Mac.
Right now her sole purpose seems to be to call Jack and Mac out on their nonsense. Which is sorely needed, don’t get me wrong, but hopefully she’ll get to develop more as the season goes on.
Not that I’ll have much attention span for anyone else when Mac is having daddy issues. I’m going to really struggle with this storyline, I can see it already. As long as Jack keeps supporting Mac (and finishing his sentences) I will hopefully survive.
