Every Friday we’ll pick a theme and then five things (hence the name! We’re so original!!!!!) that fit that theme. Feel free to make your own choices in the comments, or send them to us on Twitter. This week we’re talking about how we can’t through a store this time of year without getting sucked into the back-to-school section and spending a billion dollars, and what we’re spending those dollars on.
Why do I need so many pencil cases? I don’t even buy that many writing implements anymore. And yet I cannot STOP. I mean, sure, they can be used for other things, but still. It is ridiculous how many pencil cases I own, and yet I CANNOT STOP BUYING THEM.
Again, WHY?! I don’t own pencils! I can’t ever use erasers, so why do I always want to buy them?! It is the most ridiculous thing. But they’re always such cute shapes (though nothing can top all these rad Lisa Frank erasers from my childhood) and colors and I just want them all.
Give me all the felt tip pens in all the colors. I don’t know if these are really considered school supplies but they’re definitely close enough. I HAVE A PEN PROBLEM. (PSA: did you know you can deposit a check that’s been filled out with pink ink?)
Maybe it’s it the neon colors or the weird yet comforting smell, all I know is I have to talk myself out of needing another set of them every time I walk past the display. It doesn’t help that I have two tiny humans to buy school supplies for. It’s just so easy to throw in another pack in the cart… Gah!
This is my weakness. I have a stack of them by my bed, in every backpack/purse/bag. I just love them ok?! You never know when you’ll need to write? Just leave me alone to be crushed by my mountain of notebooks.
