Every Friday we’ll pick a theme and then five things (hence the name! We’re so original!!!!!) that fit that theme. Feel free to make your own choices in the comments, or send them to us on Twitter. This week we’re preheating the oven and choosing our fave frozen pizzas.
Lauren’s Pick: Schwan’s Individual Deep Dish pizza (via)
My go to for frozen pizza is from Schwan’s. (It’s a home delivery service for all sorts of frozen items. And apparently the parent company of it also owns Red Barron pizza.) I don’t know where exactly they all deliver, but we get it all over here in Ohio. This pizza is my single favorite frozen pizza. You can microwave it, bake in the oven or in a counter top oven. I grew up having these as a kid and still order them on a regular basis.
Urban Pies are my favorite frozen pizzas by a MILE. All the flavors are incredible, but if I have to rank, the mushroom alfredo takes the top slot (followed by the Little Italy and then the Brady Street, which feels traitorous because that one is a Milwaukee pizza but OH WELL). The crust is so good the toppings almost don’t matter. It is so buttery and flaky, it’s like eating pizza on a flat, crispy croissant. The only problem is it’s thin, so I can eat a whole lot of it.
Sometimes I just need more crust. And anyone who doesn’t like Hawaiian pizza is wrong wrong wrong.
These count. FIGHT ME. I’m not a huge pizza person (I know, I know) but I LOVE these things. Maybe it’s because it’s in pocket form or that the outside is seasoned. Whatever the reason, I want to be buried with one of these.
If I have to choose I’ll go with Freschetta. It’s the one that tastes the most like a hot pocket to me. Sorry not sorry.
